We’ve seen it all: converse, TOMS, flats, wedges, sandals, and of course, high heels. It used to be that a bride would wear white high heels, no questions asked. But now we are starting to see a plethora of shoes being worn by brides. What do you think Indy bride? Do you LOVE the idea of wearing heels at your wedding or do you HATE heels and want something more akin to your personality?
We have heard from brides that they choose to wear heels on their wedding day for a couple of reasons. First, wearing heels helps legs look slimmer and your stomach flatter. Brides want to look their very best on their wedding day and heels help you to do that! Secondly, let’s admit that wearing heels makes us feel feminine. And who doesn’t want to feel girly and beautiful on their wedding day?!
So if heels are so great, why do some brides opt out of wearing the traditional shoe? First and foremost, anyone who has worn heels for a long period of time can tell you that heels=pain, especially if you don’t wear them often. Donning a 4 inch stiletto for your wedding day may not be a great idea if you aren’t used to them! Brides choose flats or other shoes which are more comfortable for a day of constant movement!
Some brides don’t necessarily think about the comfort factor, but they would rather just have shoes that match their personality. Ballet shoes are popular with brides who have been involved in dance while converse is trendy among those who want a more casual feel to their wardrobe.
Brides also choose shoes based on the theme of their wedding. We have seen everything from sandals for a beach destination wedding to cowboy boots being worn for a rustic theme wedding.
